Barn Mice Hockey Club believes in creating and providing as many opportunities to get on the ice to play our favorite game. We understand the financial burden from ice time, gear, and travel can prevent us from playing that game.
A few anonymous donors came to us about supporting our players in times of financial hardship. We discussed:
How do we identify that person who wants to play once a month, but just can’t fit it into their budget?
Or a person that dreams of playing at their childhood arena (just once!), but can’t fathom the one-off expense to do so.
Or someone who wants to join a local league, but has to decline because player fees are too expensive relative to their income.
Or a child who dreams of playing, but it would be cost prohibitive for their parent(s) to support them in the journey.
Is the answer simply, “Sorry, hockey is an exclusive, expensive sport” ?
If any of those questions seem relevant to you - or someone you know - please fill out the form below to be considered for financial assistance through The Invisible Assist Fund.
WHAT?
Through the generosity of anonymous donors, we are offering skaters with financial stress the opportunity to play hockey free of charge.
WHY?
In times of financial hardship, many are forced to cut spending on activities that bring them the most joy.
We want to help provide access to hockey for anyone who would otherwise not be able to afford the costs.
We believe access to opportunity unlocks the human potential and builds community.
WHO?
This program is designed for any player — of all levels — experiencing financial difficulties who requires assistance covering hockey expenses.
HOW?
Participation is 100% anonymous.
